When it is time for a replacement
The set is due when residue can no longer be dissolved out of the screen, when the seal has hardened, or when the swivel or magnetic mechanism no longer closes cleanly. A second set is also handy for keeping the device in use while the first one is soaking.
Cleaning and care
Stainless steel and glass tolerate a bath in isopropyl alcohol: leave the parts to soak until the residue dissolves, then rinse with clean water and let them dry completely before refitting them. Silicone parts are better cleaned with warm water and a little washing-up liquid — prolonged alcohol baths make silicone brittle and leaky over time. Do not store the magnetic attachment next to cards with a magnetic stripe.
