When it is time for a replacement
The ceramic airflow box guides the vapour and clogs over time; if it can no longer be cleaned properly or has been chipped, the spare box goes in. Change screens as soon as the draw gets harder. Hardened seals on the mouthpiece tip make themselves felt as false air — then nothing sits properly any more and vapour output falls.
Cleaning and care
Stainless steel and glass tolerate a bath in isopropyl alcohol: leave the parts to soak until the residue dissolves, then rinse with clean water and let them dry completely before refitting them. Silicone parts are better cleaned with warm water and a little washing-up liquid — prolonged alcohol baths make silicone brittle and leaky over time.
