The ceramic adapter replaces the original mouthpiece of the Smono Balu and connects the device to a water filter. The vapour is cooled and filtered before it reaches you.

How to work with it
Remove the original mouthpiece, fit the adapter, and place the device in the joint of the water filter. The cooling mainly makes higher temperatures more pleasant, where the vapour would otherwise feel warm. Hold the device as upright as possible while drawing so no water is pulled towards the adapter, and set the combination down safely after use — glass and device together are top-heavy.
Cleaning and care
The adapter consists of the adapter body, a seal and a screen. Stainless steel and glass tolerate a bath in isopropyl alcohol: leave the parts to soak until the residue dissolves, then rinse with clean water and let them dry completely before refitting them. Silicone parts are better cleaned with warm water and a little washing-up liquid — prolonged alcohol baths make silicone brittle and leaky over time.
