When it is time for a replacement
Oven screens clog with resins; the draw gets harder and vapour output drops. The included screen lifter is more than an extra — without it you will hardly get a stuck screen out without bending it. O-rings harden and leak over time: if the mouthpiece unit sits loose or draws false air, replace the rings first before looking further.
Cleaning and care
Stainless steel and glass tolerate a bath in isopropyl alcohol: leave the parts to soak until the residue dissolves, then rinse with clean water and let them dry completely before refitting them. Silicone parts are better cleaned with warm water and a little washing-up liquid — prolonged alcohol baths make silicone brittle and leaky over time.
